View and Continue Setup of New Items from Supplier Quote

Updated 2 months ago by Merch Transformation Change Management

As of September 18, 2024, U.S. suppliers are automatically redirected from Item 360 to Supplier One for item and inventory workflows. Suppliers who also sell in Canada and category advisors will continue using Item 360.
You should continue using Online Item File to set up and manage Assortments and Import Shippers (General Merchandise). Also, setup is not yet supported in Item 360 for: Pharmacy and Fees. Please continue using your current processes (e.g., legacy workflows or systems).

Scope

From the Setup Hub in Item 360, you can view new items from Supplier Quote and continue setup of those items by downloading a spreadsheet.

  • This workflow only supports simple item hierarchies (e.g., 1/1 Configurations, Case Pack Configurations like 12/12, or Break Pack Configurations like 12/6).
    • For Assortments, Item 360 supports setup of the Child Items (Domestic or Import). To learn how to set up the Assortment Parent and link the Child Items to the Parent, view this article.
    • For Shippers, Item 360 only supports setup of the Domestic Prime and Content Items. To learn how to set up Domestic Shippers, view this article.
  • Direct Import items that fall into the following business units will use Item 360 for setup and maintenance activities: Consumables, ETS, Food, Hardlines and Home.
As of July 2023, this workflow is available to all suppliers who have Direct Import Items and Apparel items that are in “complete” status in Supplier Quote.

Item Reuse Logic

If you want to use existing items when completing the item setup spec, please ensure the items in your new setup spreadsheet follow the reuse logic outlined here.

View New Items from Supplier Quote

  1. In the left navigation menu, click Setup.
  2. Select the Supplier Quote view if it does not show by default (e.g., if the Setup Hub shows your new GDSN Publications).
  3. Each card represents one item.
You can export the data for up to 500 items in a read-only spreadsheet. Click the check box on the cards to select the items. Or, use the GTIN or Quote ID Search bar or filter to narrow down the list. Then, click Export (Read Only) above the first card on the page.
To find specific items, click the GTIN or Quote ID Search bar and enter the GTINs or Quote IDs. If you enter multiple GTINs, remember to select GTIN under ID Type.
Or, click the Filter icon to find new items by the Supplier / Seller Name or ID, Department, Fineline, or Submission Date(s). When you've made all of your selections, click the Apply button.

Continue Setup

  1. To continue setup for a single item, click Continue Setup at the bottom right corner of the card.
To complete setup for multiple items, click the check box on the cards to select the items. Then, click Continue Setup above the first card on the page.
  2. The item setup questionnaire varies depending on the number of items you are setting up and the number of product types you select. Your answers to these questions determine which attributes are included on your pre-populated item setup spreadsheet.
    1. If you're setting up a single item, tell us if the item will be sold in stores by selecting Yes or No. (Select No to create an Online Only Item.) Select the Product Type if it is not already selected. The Consumable GTIN pre-populates and cannot be edited. Then, click the Next button and skip to Step 3.
    2. If you're setting up multiple items in the same Product Type, tell us if the items will be sold in stores by selecting Yes or No. (Select No to create Online Only Items.) Select the Product Type if it is not already selected. The Consumable GTINs pre-populate and cannot be edited. Then, click the Next button and skip to Step 3.
    3. If you're setting up multiple items in multiple Product Types, tell us if the items will be sold in stores by selecting Yes or No. (Select No to create Online Only Items.) Then, select the Product Types that best describe the items. The Consumable GTINs pre-populate by the Department Name and cannot be edited. Click the Next button.
  3. The Consumable GTIN, Description, and Orderable Pack Quantity pre-populate for each item you selected. Provide the Orderable GTIN for each item in the last column.
You should only use the Consumable GTIN as the Orderable GTIN if you are setting up a 1/1 pack configuration.
You can copy and paste a column of Orderable GTINs from a spreadsheet into this table. Make sure your spreadsheet is sorted by the Consumable GTINs in ascending order before copying the column of Orderable GTINs. Then, click Add Orderable GTIN for the first item and paste the column.
  4. Click the Download button.

Complete and Submit the Spreadsheet

  1. Each spreadsheet for Owned and Direct Store Delivery (DSD) items has a Data Definitions tab, a Product Content And Site Exp tab, and a Trade Item Configurations tab. Each spreadsheet for Drop Ship Vendor (DSV) items has a Data Definitions tab and a Product Content And Site Exp tab. For each item, make sure you provide all required attributes on all editable tabs. The Main Image URL and Additional Image URL are required at setup for all items except Apparel. Videos can be uploaded using a Rich Media maintenance spreadsheet (after setup is complete) or through Connected Content Partners.
Values that appear in dark gray cells cannot be edited. If you need to update the value, work with your Walmart merchant to unstage the quote. Then, update the value in Supplier Quote. Once the item is complete in Supplier Quote, create a new item setup spreadsheet in Item 360 > Setup > Supplier Quote.
Refer to the Data Definitions tab for attribute definitions and requirements. If your spreadsheet does not have a Data Definitions tab, refer to Row 6 below the attribute names. For more details, read Understanding the Item Setup Spreadsheet. You can submit a partially completed spreadsheet and provide missing required info later in the Activity Manager.
  2. To submit your file in Item 360:
    • Click Upload in the left navigation menu.
    • Select Spreadsheet.
    • Click the Next button.
    • Select the file from your computer.
    • Provide an activity description.
    • Click Submit.
If you are setting up items on behalf of distributors, you cannot submit the file in Item 360. Please email your item setup spreadsheet to your Walmart Merchant to submit.
Currently, shared items are set up with two different item numbers – one for Walmart stores and one for walmart.com. In the future, shared items will use the same item number for both.
After the items are successfully created, the item cards will no longer appear in the Item Quotes view of Item 360.

Track Your Item Setup

Read Track Your Activities.

Unstage a Quote

If you no longer want to set up all items in a specific quote, or if you need to edit an attribute value that appears as read-only (dark gray cells in your item setup spreadsheet), work with your Walmart merchant to unstage the quote.

If you or your Walmart merchant has already started the setup process for any of the items in the quote, the items will be discarded from the corresponding Activity ID(s) when the quote is unstaged.
