Select the Right Product Type

Setup is not yet supported in Item 360 for: Assortments, Import Shippers (General Merchandise), Pharmacy, and Fees. Please continue using your current processes (e.g., legacy workflows or systems).

In omni-channel item setup, the Product Types determine how we catalog items and collect relevant information. Selecting the most relevant Product Type helps ensure you only have to enter the most relevant item information. To help you select the right Product Type, refer to the Style Guides.

How to Select the Right Product Type

  1. For each item, identify the most relevant Product Type in the Product Type Group (PTG).
  2. If your item seems to belong to several Product Types, download the item setup spreadsheet and review the attributes for each Product Type. Select the Product Type that provides the best combination of attributes to describe your item.

Additional Tip

  • Baby Garments & Accessories is its own Product Type Group, separate from other clothing Product Type Groups.
